Daniel, originally from Detroit, Mich., announced his new position on Twitter, reasoning if President Donald Trump’s past as reality show star took him to the presidency, he could as well. Daniel wrote he reached out to towns for two days, before hearing from Hell on becoming their mayor.
On Twitter, later that day, he called for a ban of all heterosexuals from Hell to make “Hell Gay Again.”
“I love straights, but my #1 priority is the safety of my town,” he wrote. “Until the heterosexual threat has been reviewed we cannot allow them to enter. yes I am the first u.s mayor to ban heterosexuality but i hope my act of bravery will inspire fellow politicians to ban straights as well.”
He was impeached an hour later, by the citizens of Hell.
According to MLive, this was a part of the town’s “Mayor for a Day” attraction in which guest can pay $100 to take part.
There seems to be no hard feelings between the former mayor and town — the Hell Twitter called Daniel “a hell of a comedian”.
“But no worries, everyone is accepted in Hell!” the account added.
