An Ann Arbor woman was charged with felonious assault and second-offense domestic violence on Wednesday after a man she lives with was stabbed.

According to police, the stabbing occurred as a result of an argument between the woman, 28-year-old Marqueisha A. Roberts, and the man. Although police could not confirm, this is allegedly not the first report of domestic violence coming from Roberts’ West Arbor apartment address, based on neighbor Joshua Mitchell’s account.

“We were just waiting for something like this to kind of happen,” Mitchell told MLive. ““It wasn’t like a little punch here and there. The domestic violence was pretty bad.”

Mitchell also said there are five children living in the apartment, but that information, as well as Roberts’s custody status, was not disclosed by police. The man involved in the stabbing has since been released from the hospital.

According to online records from local courts and the Michigan Department of Corrections, Roberts has no prior felony record. Roberts was arraigned in Washtenaw County’s 15th District Court on Thursday and is scheduled to make an appearance in court on March 21 for a probable cause hearing.
