Two attempted home invasions took place on Wednesday, Dec. 12 near the University of Michigan campus within 10 minutes of each other.
The first break-in occurred on the 700 block of Arbor Street at around 12:50 p.m. According to a report by the University of Michigan Department of Public Safety and Security, a suspect was found inside the house looking for returnable containers.
The second incident occurred on the 1000 block of Hill Street at around 1:00 p.m. when a student in his second-floor bedroom confronted the suspect. The perpetrator fled the scene.
The report describes the suspect as “male, between 40-55 years of age, about 5’8’’, with a beard and mustache. He was last seen wearing a black coat with the hood up, blue jeans, and a maroon winter beanie hat.”
The Ann Arbor Police Department did not respond to The Daily’s request for comment in time for publication.
