Matthew Urban, 26, was found dead Saturday in the University of Michigan’s Matthaei Botanical Gardens. Urban, a Ypsilanti resident, had been reported as missing since Tuesday.
According to ClickOnDetroit, two people were walking in the Gardens around 4 p.m. Saturday when they saw a partially submerged body and notified the police. Officers from the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office retrieved the body and determined it was Urban.
In a Nixle Crime Alert on the WCSO’s website, officers reported Urban’s vehicle was found Thursday in the parking lot of the Health and Fitness Center at Washtenaw Community College. Urban was last seen 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in Ypsilanti when he dropped a relative off at a local business.
As of Sunday, Urban’s case is still ongoing. Authorities have stated there are no immediate signs of foul play.
