A University of Michigan student woke up to an intruder in his room early Friday morning, according to a crime alert sent out by the Division of Public Safety and Security. The invasion took place around 3:30 a.m. south of central campus, on South Forest Avenue near Cambridge Street.
The victim was asleep and woke up to find the unknown male going through his pants pockets. According to a statement from Ann Arbor Police Department Lieutenant Matthew Lige, the victim was not wearing the pants while this happened. The suspect fled the scene after he was observed.
This incident marks the first crime alert since mid-July.
