On Monday night, a home invasion occurred in the 1900 block of Plymouth Road near Bishop Street, across from North Campus.

According to the report, the invader unlocked a patio door while the resident was sleeping inside and proceeded to steal a laptop.

A crime alert was sent to the University of Michigan community Tuesday afternoon.

According to Matthew Lige, Ann Arbor Police Department detective and lieutenant, there is no additional information on the incident.

In a message to the Daily, Diane Brown, spokeswoman of the Division of Public Safety and Security, emphasized the list of reminders, which can be found at the bottom of the crime alert. Specifically, she encouraged residents to lock doors and use security bars on sliding doors, as home invasions occur when doors are unlocked.
