According to the Boston Police Department, 32-year-old Kendric Price, former University of Michigan basketball player, was shot and killed on Saturday.

Investigators reported a call to a neighborhood in Massachusetts known as area 12 of Greenwood Street in Dorchester. Upon arrival, they found Price with gunshot wounds. Reports also indicate Price died on the scene.

Price played basketball at the University between 2005 and 2007, during his freshman and sophomore year, and graduated in 2008. Price, who was born in Boston, later became an assistant basketball coach at University of Massachusetts-Boston.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and police are asking for anyone with information about the shooting to contact Boston homicide at 617-343-4470.
