An attempted home invasion on Oakland Avenue took place at about 1 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, according to the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security.

The report says a University student arrived home and saw an unidentified male attempting to enter the house through an unsecured, ground-floor window. When the suspect became aware of the resident’s presence, he fled toward Hill Street.

The Ann Arbor Police Department is investigating the situation. When contacted for comment, Ann Arbor police officer Andrew Janette said it is an ongoing investigation and the AAPD cannot provide further details at this time.
