Two University of Michigan students reported incidents of attempted home invasions midday Friday, according to a crime alert sent out by the Division of Public Safety and Security. An unknown male attempted to enter two Northwood Community apartments on the 2500 block of Stone Road near Hubbard Road, the alert details.
The incidents were reported separately. The doors of the apartment were locked and the unknown male was unable to enter.
This attempted home invasion comes two weeks after a home invasion attempt on Nov. 21 off campus on the 900 block of E. Ann St and is the second crime alert since the Thanksgiving break in which an armed robbery occurred in West Quad residence hall.
As of Friday afternoon, further details regarding the unknown male have yet to be released. DPSS advising keeping room and apartment doors locked at all times and keeping valuables secure and out of view.
