At approximately 3 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, a female victim was sexually assaulted according to the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security.

The victim woke to find a male sexually assaulting her, and the suspect fled the residence on 1000 block Church Street, south of Oakland. 

The incident was reported as a third-degree sexual assault, which the state of Michigan defines as penetration of an incapacitated or coerced victim.
