A big part of photography is taking the time to pay attention to the details. As a photographer, this has become a habit of mine. At the beginning of this shoot, I was unsure of what to focus on, searching for inspiration in the smallest of details. After seeing one brown, dried-up plant after another, I began to notice the small details that retained the plant’s natural beauty. The end of winter is a time of hope, but in the Midwest, our surroundings are often bleak and grey. All plants seem dead and brown as we wait for colorful flowers to bloom and leaves to grow back onto trees. It is only when you stop to take a closer look at these plants that you see the secret, hidden beauty they hold in their details.
