As I was walking through campus earlier this week, I realized that there were a lot of people and things that are underappreciated at Michigan. So here’s a shoutout to some of them:

  • Shoutout to the Alumni Center for being under construction so that students can bond over memeing Bagely.

  • Shoutout to the janitors that clean the dorms’ bathrooms and public spaces. Y’all deal with so many people’s messes and we truly appreciate you so much.

  • Shoutout to the M buses for not running me over so that I don’t get free tuition 🙁

  • Shoutout to the librarians at all of the libraries who do so much work behind the scenes to keep our libraries on campus running so that all of the students can study and find what we need.

  • Shoutout to all of the boba places on campus that feed my boba addiction and take money from my already broke bank account.

  • Shoutout to the strangers who smile at me when we make awkward eye contact as we walk past each other. Y’all deserve the world.

  • Shoutout to Reggie for being the happy, good doggo that he is and spreading smiles all throughout campus.

  • Shoutout to the Overheard at Umich and Umich Memes for Wolverteens for making me laugh and cry with relatable content 24/7.

  • Shoutout to the people who hold the doors open for you when they see you coming towards them. Y’all also deserve the world.

  • Shoutout to all of the professors who are just trying their best to be the best they can be. Even if some students don’t appreciate you, just know that there will always be who that will laugh at your corny jokes (even if it’s forced).

  • Shoutout to the new Bubly machines in the dining halls… because that’s really where our tuition should be going.

  • Shoutout to game days for always making me remember why I love being at a school that is in the Big Ten and for also making me realize that red solo cups need to be eliminated.

  • Shoutout to the people who still pull the cord when the bus is by the CCTC. If it gives you peace of mind, do it.

  • Shoutout to the Law Quad for being an underrated spot to just chill and take a break. The Diag can be a little busy and overwhelming sometimes so it’s nice to go somewhere outdoors that is quiet.

  • Shoutout to lofi music for getting me through studying on the second floor of the UGLI when everyone and their mom decides to start talking very loudly.

  • Shoutout to all of the students who are taking classes, working jobs, participating in clubs and orgs., trying to have a social life, and still be sane. It’s a lot to handle and it can get overwhelming sometimes but you got this. Don’t be afraid to reach out and talk to someone or ask for help.
