With vaccinations ramping up and officials optimistic for next semester, the University of Michigan campus might look quite different when students return to Ann Arbor in the fall. One thing that’ll stay the same this summer: The Michigan Daily’s dedication to our readers.
The Daily published the last print edition of the semester Wednesday, but we’re not going anywhere.
We’ll still be publishing new content online every single day this summer. You can keep up with the latest at michigandaily.com and @michigandaily on all of our social media accounts — Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok.
If you’re a student, the Weekly Roundup newsletter will bring the most important student-focused stories to your inbox once a month during summer break. Anyone can subscribe to it here. The University Insider, our newsletter dedicated to informing faculty and staff without a spin, will continue to be sent biweekly. Subscribe to it here. We’re also excited to debut a brand new newsletter focused on city issues for Ann Arbor residents, the A2 Outlook — more details to come on that soon.
And while you won’t find The Daily in print regularly again until the fall semester, we’ll post a PDF weekly paper with highlights from each section on Issuu. We’re also publishing several special print editions.
Next weekend, the Graduation Edition will hit the newsstands across campus. It’s the perfect keepsake for graduates and families looking to celebrate the highlights of these special years in Ann Arbor. We’ll also send Orientation Guides and New Student Editions to the home of every incoming student over the summer months as a welcome to campus.
What a school year it’s been. From the turbulence of the fall reopening to the hope of spring vaccinations, the University community has seen it all. And The Michigan Daily has been there every step of the way.
Our tireless summer staff will continue to cover the University and Ann Arbor’s evolving response to the pandemic and, most importantly, keep you informed of it all.
