The 13th-seeded Michigan volleyball team did the impossible last night in the Regional Semifinals of the NCAA Tournament.

It beat 4th-seeded Stanford in four sets to advance to the Elite Eight for the first time in program history. The Wolverines beat the Cardinals on their home floor in Palo Alto, Calif.

Sophomore right side hitter Alex Hunt led Michigan with 18 kills while senior outside hitter Juliana Paz dished in 15 in the winning effort.

Junior setter Lexi Zimmerman added 51 assists.

Michigan will now play Hawaii tonight at 11:30 EST. The match will be aired live on ESPNU.
