Chad Smith is at it again. Playing a show in Columbus Sunday night with his band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smith sang the University of Michigan fight song, “The Victors,” to an arena full of irate Ohio State fans.
Smith, a native of Bloomfield Hills and an alum of Lahser High School, has been a fan of the Wolverines his whole life, according to WXYZ Detroit.
And to make matters worse, the bass drum he was playing on had a Block ‘M’ drum head.
This isn’t a first-time offense, either. He actually did the exact same thing at a Columbus show in 2012. So, while his Chili Peppers may be Red Hot, Chad Smith will always… go blue.
