Palmer Commons flooded Friday afternoon. A video posted on Instagram by The Tab Michigan, a popular social media account, showed water gushing out from the ceiling onto the first floor of the commons.
LSA sophomore Meghan Vill was studying at the tables facing Palmer Field when she noticed students running out of Palmer Commons and heard an alarm going off inside the building.
“I was shocked and confused, and when I turned to look there was brown water pouring down from the ceiling like a waterfall,” Vill said. “I was so confused and didn’t know what to do, and neither did anyone else. There was a group of people sprinting out the doors and another group of people not knowing what to do.”
University Public Affairs said they had no information on the cause of the flooding. The Division of Public Safety and Security did not immediately respond to request for comment.
