I am graduating a year early from the University of Michigan, receiving a B.A. in international studies with a concentration in international security, norms and cooperation, as well as minors in history of art and oceanography.

Yeah, thank you, I would love my gold star now please.

It was after playing her final game in her collegiate career in a Michigan jersey. After all of this, senior guard Danielle Williams got to hug her identical twin sister, Dominique.

The men’s team claimed victory with 101 points, while the women’s team took second place with 62 points.

Senior guard Siera Thompson converted from the charity stripe down the stretch to push Michigan past Villanova.

The Michigan women’s basketball team was in this exact position a year ago — and the year before that — making this the third-straight attempt at crossing over into the finals of the WNIT. And finally, this year, the Wolverines did just that — beating Villanova, 65-61.

My best friend from the University of Washington messaged me the other day: “Last class of my undergraduate degree!” I responded positively, albeit less animated than usual as I was waking up from a nap. When I got up from my bed, I walked to the bathroom and stared at my reflection. I was panicking.

In five weeks I’ll be sending that same text message.

Penn State forward Kaliyah Mitchell stepped to the line and sank the free throw and the Wolverines’ hopes simultaneously in a 76-75 loss in their final game of the season.
