Through internal means, fraternities and sororities at the University of Michigan have been attempting to address issues of diversity, equity and inclusion, but face an obstacle in obtaining buy-in from across all four Greek life councils.

Visual and written art expressions created by about 45 University of Michigan students and faculty were displayed in Rackham Graduate School Friday evening for the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center’s art exhibition “rEVOLUTION: Making Art for Change.”

In the wake of a blackface incident involving Snapchat on campus, History Club at the University of Michigan hosted a dialogue Tuesday evening to examine the historical roots of the blackface caricature and its harmful modern-day implications.
The racist Snapchat was posted by LSA sophomore Lauren Fokken wearing a black face mask with the caption “#blacklivesmatter.”

The University of Michigan will be hiring an “outside expert” to perform a review of how the University handles sexual misconduct reports and the policies that guide these practices. The announcement came eight days after the University’s revised sexual misconduct policies went into effect on Feb. 7.
