A year ago, Duncan Robinson sat on the bench in street clothes as Michigan hosted Syracuse in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Moritz Wagner was in Berlin, Germany, playing his games for Alba Berlin, a semi-professional team. Fast forward a year to the 2015 Big Ten/ACC Challenge in Raleigh, N.C., and Robinson and Wagner showed why they’re two of the most important pieces for the Michigan men’s basketball team this season.
PARADISE ISLAND, The Bahamas — Texas men’s basketball coach Shaka Smart and three assistants sat courtside for Michigan’s day-two matchup against Charlotte on Thursday night. The Longhorns (2-2) would take on the winner on Friday in the final day of the Battle 4 Atlantis, and it quickly became clear that would be the Wolverines, as Michigan rolled past the 49ers.
PARADISE ISLAND, The Bahamas — After knocking down a 3-pointer early in the first half, Zak Irvin pounded his chest twice, yelled at his teammates and ran back on defense. The triple put the Michigan men’s basketball team up 10-9 four minutes into its game against Charlotte during the second day of action at the Battle 4 Atlantis. The made shot also gave the Wolverines a lead they never relinquished as they rolled to a 102-47 win on Thursday.
PARADISE ISLAND, The Bahamas — The Atlantis Paradise Island resort has all the makings of a perfect weeklong getaway spot. Palm trees line the property, balconies overlook the ocean, and get this: the resort doesn’t just feature a lazy river — it has a crazy river, too. But don’t tell that to Caris LeVert as his team gets ready for the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. The senior guard didn’t come to the Bahamas so the Michigan men’s basketball team could relax.
