Ninety minutes before the Michigan men’s basketball team tipped off against Northern Kentucky on Tuesday night, redshirt sophomore guard Duncan Robinson strutted out from Michigan’s locker room. He stretched on the sideline and then started his pregame routine, practicing more than 100 shot attempts from spots all around the arc. Ninety minutes later, he did it for real, picking up 18 points in the first half on six 3-pointers as Michigan (8-3) rolled past the Norse (2-6), 77-62.

Senior guard Spike Albrecht played in eight games this year.

The Michigan men’s basketball team announced on Friday that senior guard Spike Albrecht has elected to end his career with the Wolverines in order to focus on recovering from surgery on both hips from this past summer.

“This has been the toughest decision I have ever had to make,” Albrecht said in a press release. “After taking a hard look at what is best for me, and this team, I will be stepping away from the game that has meant so much to me.
