From a high school wide reciever, Joe Milton is getting ready for his first game as Michigan's starting quarterback.

On Saturday in Minneapolis, Milton, now a redshirt sophomore, will become the sixth starting quarterback of the Jim Harbaugh era at Michigan. He’ll do so after beating out Dylan McCafrey, who came into the offseason the favorite for the job, and get a long-awaited chance to prove himself in an eight-game, coronavirus-shortened season.
Those who have worked with him say he’s ready.

Michigan will start its season with confidence in its front four on defense.

In their four losses, the Wolverines gave up the first score three times, including a 85-yard score to Alabama on the Crimson Tide’s first play from scrimmage in the Citrus Bowl. As a freshman, Dax Hill showed why he was a former five-star recruit. Now as a sophomore, he'll be the key cog in Michigan's defense.

Daxton Hill’s talent is more out in the open. Since his recruitment saga two years ago, which culminated in the former five-star flipping from Alabama to Michigan and handing Brown a foundational piece for the future, Hill has been a sure thing in waiting. He impressed when he got on the field in 2019, mostly as a slot corner, but for the most part, sat behind two experienced safeties and waited his turn.
