Thursday’s meeting of the University Board of Regents saw several faculty appointments, including the vice provost of biosciences, and an extension of the Dow Sustainability Fund.

Central Student Government President Anusha Sarkar, an LSA senior, was also present at the meeting. She addressed the board, highlighting some of the 2017-2018 assembly’s goals for the year, which are also reflected in a memo submitted to the Regents.

Wednesday night, four suspects were arrested for committing an aggravated assault at the West Hall Arch at the intersection of South University Avenue and East University Avenue. Three suspects were taken to jail and the fourth was released pending warrant authorization.

The crime took place early Wednesday morning and the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security released information about the suspects, as told by the witnesses Wednesday evening.

On Tuesday, a federal judge delayed the deportation of undocumented Ann Arbor resident Jose Luis Sanchez-Ronquillo. Sanchez-Ronquillo has lived in Ann Arbor for 19 years and has two children.

On Wednesday, an online scam targeting Gmail accounts took over the internet.

According to The Independent, the scam allows hackers to take over email accounts, though it is not clear who is running it. It operates by sending users a Google Doc link from a name they are familiar with; upon opening the link the user’s account will be hacked and subsequently used to spread the hack.
