Protestors rally against the dismantling of the Affordable Care Act at the Federal Building on Thursday.

On Thursday night, approximately 50 Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor residents gathered outside the Federal Building on East Liberty Street to rally against the dismantling of the Affordable Care Act and promote single-payer health care. The rally and vigil was organized by the Huron Valley Democratic Socialists of America and We the People of Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor.

On Sunday afternoon, a home invasion occurred on the 200 block of Packard Street near South Fifth Avenue, west of central campus.

According to a crime alert sent out to the University of Michigan community Monday evening, the Ann Arbor Police Department responded to the call. A man entered an apartment house and stole cash. He fled when confronted by residents.

About 40 Washtenaw County residents gathered Sunday afternoon at the Washtenaw County Learning Resource Center for an event titled Mobilizing for Michigan: 2017 Listening Tour Launch. The Advancing Healthy Communities through Environmental Engineering and Science conference took place at the Michigan League Tuesday through Thursday. With approximately 200 attendees, the conference looked at accomplishments in improving and investigating air and water quality, as well as strategies to improve communities, among other notable aspects of environmental engineering, science and public health fields.

On Monday, the Ann Arbor Police Department announced the arrest of an Ypsilanti resident associated with three robberies that occurred near the University of Michigan campus in January and February. A fourth robbery that occurred during those months is still under investigation.
