Dozens of residents showed up to the Bryant Community Center in southern Ann Arbor Tuesday night to listen to and participate in a forum on police-community relations. The event was hosted by representatives of Hillard Heintze LLC, the Chicago-based security firm currently conducting a review of the Ann Arbor Police Department.

Thousands of people flooded Main Street Sunday this afternoon, coming from across the state to sample food, listen to live music and people-watch at the annual Taste of Ann Arbor festival.

The festival, organized by the Main Street Area Association of businesses, is intended to provide attendees a sampling of several of Ann Arbor's many restaurants in smaller, cheaper portions.

On Tuesday, August 8, Ann Arbor residents will vote in the primary election for City Council. In Ward 1, Democrat Anne Bannister is challenging the incumbent, Democrat Jason Frenzel, who lost to Councilmember Sumi Kailasapathy in last year's election, but was appointed by the council to fill a vacancy left by Councilmember Sabra Briere's abrupt resignation.
