In a federal lawsuit filed against Robert Anderson, the late University of Michigan sports physician who has recently been accused of sexual misconduct, Paul Schmidt, University of Michigan assistant athletic director, was implicated for being aware of Anderson’s behavior, according to a report published by The Detroit News Thursday.

A study published by University of Michigan researchers found that opioid-using patients reported higher pain compared to non-opioid users after surgical or routine extraction procedures. In the study, opioid users left roughly 50 percent of prescribed opioid pills unused and patient satisfaction with pain management was no different between opioid and non-opioid users.

In response to the coronavirus outbreak, students in the School of Nursing now have to complete their work for this semester virtually while still meeting requirements set by the state nursing board and other accredited bodies.

Patricia Hurn, dean of School of Nursing at the University of Michigan, announced in an email Wednesday that Nursing seniors had completed their clinical placements.

Regent Ron Weiser (R), accused Dr. Robert Anderson, the late University of Michigan sports physician, of sexually assaulting him while he was a student in the 1960s, according to an interview with The Detroit News published Thursday morning.

Weiser said he first encountered Anderson during his freshman year on the wrestling team.
