University students protest in favor of divestment during CSG on the Diag November 8.

On Tuesday, University of Michigan Central Student Government will vote on its divestment resolution. Tensions have been ramping up, as it has in mid-Novembers over the past decade. The resolution aims to gain support from CSG on divestment from companies operating in Israel due to possible human rights violations of Palestinians.

LSA Student Government convened Wednesday to pass a resolution pertaining to inadequate on-campus housing for University of Michigan students. The assembly also introduced measures to endorse the creation of 10 graduate student positions which they hope will further integrate the LSA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion plan into student affairs.

Convening for its second time this academic year, LSA Student Government met Wednesday evening to pass resolutions addressing the renaming of the C.C. Little Science Building and to increase lighting on North Campus.

In discussing the resolution to announce the assembly’s support of changing the name of C.C. Little, LSA junior Kristen Ball, co-author of the resolution, spoke on behalf of the overall cultural implications the name of the building has on the University of Michigan’s identity.

A new competition based off of the CBS reality game show “Survivor” is making its way to the University of Michigan campus this fall.

Dubbed “Survivor: Michigan,” the competition will be comprised of 16 to 18 current University students competing in weekly activities based off of the real reality game show, such as immunity challenges, tribal councils, confessionals and alliances lasting throughout the academic semester.
