About 35 people gathered on the steps of the Rackham Graduate School Thursday evening to hold a vigil for recent hate crimes — in particular, in remembrance of the murder of Indian immigrant Srinivas Kuchibhotla in Olathe, Kan.

A bulletin sent out by the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security announced the investigation of an unknown man trying to lure a 10-year-old girl into his vehicle in the Northwood 46 parking lot at 1400 McIntyre Dr. at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday.
According to the bulletin, the man was driving a four-door black car and motioned for the child to enter his vehicle before she immediately ran away.
