After 174 years, The Ann Arbor News to close in July

In an announcement made earlier this morning, Laurel Champion, publisher of The Ann Arbor News, told employees that the newspaper plans to close in July. Owned by the parent company, Booth Newspapers, The Ann Arbor News will be replaced by AnnArbor.com – a website that will publish local news online.
