Sander Levin agreed to give documents from his time in the House of Representatives to the Bentley Historical Library’s archives, the Ford School of Public Policy hosted the Congressman and several members of his family on Monday evening to celebrate his history in public service.
As the threat of climate change continues to provoke protests demanding institutional action to address the issue, student activists are calling on the University of Michigan to reduce its use of fossil fuels for powering facilities on campus.
Two bills that could affect free speech on campus passed in the Michigan House of Representatives’ House Oversight Committee on Sept. 5. The bills aim to regulate the extent to which a college or university can implement policies relating to the free speech of students and staff.

Funk shared his findings from his book “Windfall: The Booming Business of Global Warming,” addressing how businesses often take advantage of environmental issues to generate a profit.
New LSA Dean Anne Curzan welcomed students back to campus with a pop-up event Thursday outside of Angell Hall to introduce herself to students. LSA representatives encouraged students walking by to chat with the dean and enjoy snacks and cornhole games during the event.
LSA Communications Director Tamra Talmadge-Anderson credited the dean for having come up with the idea.
The LSA National Center for Institutional Diversity hosted a panel on Thursday morning. The panel, titled “Navigating a Highly Politicized Landscape: The Role of Scholars in Policy,” featured researchers discussing communication tactics for presenting findings to Congress to influence legislative change.
