Confidential forensic rape examination
Under the Violence Against Women Act, the state of Michigan is required to offer free, emergency-room forensic rape examinations. Survivors who wish to physical collect evidence up to 96 hours after experiencing sexual assault can receive a free examination. St. Joseph Mercy Health System in Ypsilanti and the University of Michigan Health System offer examinations.
