Andrew Richner
Regent Andrew Richner, a Republican from Grosse Pointe Park, was elected to the University's Board of Regents in 2002 and currently serves as the board's chair.
Richner graduated with honors from the University's School of Business in 1982 and went on to earn a law degree from the University's Law School in 1986.
While in law school, Richner was a contributing editor to the Michigan Law Review and served as an intern in the Office of Counsel to the President under President Ronald Reagan.
Richner is a partner at the law firm Clark Hill, PLC, where he specializes in government relations and public affairs. Prior to joining Clark Hill, Richner served three terms, from 1997 to 2002, in the Michigan House of Representatives. He also served two terms on the Wayne County Board of Commissioners, from 1993 to 1996, and one term on the Grosse Park City Council, from 1991 to 1993.
Richner is married and has two children, a son and daughter.
