It’s Tuesday.

We’ve got something special for you, with a wildcard edition of Block ‘M’ Blog.
The Michigan football team’s rapper/singer duo of redshirt senior quarterback Jack Kennedy and redshirt junior wide receiver Joe Reynolds played on the field together for the first time at the end of Michigan’s 45-0 victory against Illinois. But there’s something they do almost as well as football, and that’s music.
‘JDK and Rey’ stepped off the field and into the recording studio in time to release their third music video of the fall on Tuesday.
JDK and Rey’s song ‘Hundred Level’ has been blasting through Michigan Stadium in the pregame mix all season long. Now it’s got that crucial visual component.
The video features several scenes, including the ‘Go Blue Beat MSU’ pep rally held on the Diag last Thursday, recording studios on North Campus, a trip to Detroit and more.
For ease of viewing, we selected some key points of the video for you:
0:15: This scene was shot at the ‘Go Blue Beat MSU’ pep rally no Thursday. JDK and Rey did a set and had videographer Ryan Doyle filming. Our first real scene sees JDK and Rey walking out of the graduate library to take the stage.
0:40: Yes, that is, from left to right, Roy Roundtree, Paul Bunyan Elliott Mealer, Craig Roh and Patrick Omameh going wild in the crowd.
0:42: We stepped away from the Diag and are at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor.
0:49: Back to the pep rally. Don’t miss the crowdsurfer in the background, but you’ve got Chris Bryant, Jibreel Black, Courtney Avery and others from ‘Team 133’ making an appearance in front of the stage.
1:05: At the crib, we assume. Take note that Kennedy has the aluminum 13-inch MacBook Pro — I mean, who in the class of 2012 or 2013 doesn’t have one of those? — and he prefers to keep the back light lit at all times.
1:51: Reynolds’ shirt reads like a Holiday weekend gone bad — “All Flights Cancelled.” He drops in to swing us into the chorus.
2:16: Looks like we’ve dropped Central Campus altogether here and are up in the recording studios on North Campus. It’s our second CD-pass of the day, and the wide receiver-quarterback handoff is perfect once again.
2:34: Oh no you didn’t! Kennedy makes a serious Mitt Romney dig. Listen for it.
3:05: Raise your hand if you love it when the beat dies, you kill the sound, and then the rapper carries us through the silence with a rapid-fire line. Mine’s up. Kennedy does everything but drop the mic in this section.
3:50: We’ve taken “Hundred Level” to Detroit, where it appears JDK and Rey steer toward the GM Renaissance Center and shoot straight up in the glass-enclosed elevators.
That’s a picture of America, freedom and the auto industry. The crowd loves it, tossing beach balls and begging for high fives.
