Can junior center Krista Phillips’ knees hold up?
In the Wolverines’ exhibition game last Saturday against Northwood, Phillips didn't start, and she rode an exercise bike instead of sitting on the bench.

A group of Northwood fans chanted “back to basics” when a Michigan women’s basketball player was called for traveling in the first half of Saturday’s exhibition game.
The teams combined for 50 turnovers in the game.

After solid first season, Borseth knows questions remain unanswered

The clock is ticking and the Michigan women’s basketball team is down by one point with 20 seconds to play. Wolverines coach Kevin Borseth calmly calls a timeout to fire up his players and strategize.
But who gets the last shot?
“I don’t know,” Borseth said. “One of them takes it upon their shoulders to do it. …They are probably going to determine (it) more than I am.”

New strength coach gives women's basketball team a lift

Mike Barwis, the Michigan football team's highly touted director of strength and conditioning, isn't the only new strength coach making an impact in Ann Arbor this year.
Mike Curtis, who spent the past six years working with the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies, is the new women’s basketball strength and conditioning coach.
He said his main objective is to “make better athletes.”
