The Michigan women's track and field team obliterated the field at the Kentucky Invitational this past weekend.
It broke two records, won three events and posted four NCAA-qualifying times.
Senior Erin Webster has had success in Lexington, Ky., before. She held the 3,000-meter facility record going into the Invitational. On Saturday, she bested her previous record by more than five seconds (9:13.42). Junior Nicole Edwards recorded a personal best in the event, finishing in second and posting an NCAA-qualifying time (9:31.30).

Just days after Eastern Michigan canceled its meet due to an October flooding, the Michigan men's track and field team made a flood of its own last Friday at the Chippewa Open in Mount Pleasant.
The Wolverines won five events and earned second place or better in 9-of-11. Michigan swept the top four positions in the 400-meter dash against Central Michigan.
"For the first time out, we had some pretty darn good performances," Michigan coach Ron Warhurst said. "Hopefully, it's a sign of good things to come."

Say you coached the last American to win the Boston Marathon, or heck, were just the coach of the last American male to medal in a distance race at the Olympics. Let's not even mention the Big Ten titles, the All-Americans you coached, or the four decades you've been around.
Doesn't it feel like some gratitude should have come your way by now?
Recognition finally caught up with Michigan men's cross country coach Ron Warhurst this past January when he received word that he would be on the U.S. coaching staff for the Track and Field World Cup in Athens, Greece on Sept. 16 and 17.
