Despite their uncustomary start to the season, Michigan tallied 145 points its first scored meet and only second meet overall this outdoor season, finishing ahead of Virginia (93) and just behind host California, which won with 161 points.

Balanced attack leads Wolverines to tri-meet victory

The Wolverines showcased their depth on Saturday, using contributions from multiple athletes to defeat Virginia and host California in a tri-meet. Michigan scored 153 points — led by seven different first-place finishers — to overcome the Golden Bears’ 143 and Virginia’s 86.
