Wolverines sweep Michigan State

Michigan might have been crushed by rival Michigan State in men’s basketball, but the No. 13 women’s tennis team (1-0 Big Ten, 7-3 overall) wasn’t due for a similar fate. In its first Big Ten match, the Wolverines took on the Spartans (0-1, 8-3) on Wednesday in Ann Arbor and proved to be a terror, crushing their rivals, 7-0.

Tough Tulsa talent to test tennis team

Two years ago, the then-No. 12 Michigan men’s tennis team was taken by surprise, upset by an unranked Tulsa squad. Wednesday, the 23rd-ranked Wolverines (4-3) get the rematch they’ve been waiting for. The 17th-ranked Golden Hurricanes mark the sixth ranked opponent the Wolverines have faced in their last eight matches.

Captain Bolender playing strong

Junior Brooke Bolender played like a true captain in the women’s tennis team’s 5-2 win over No. 14 Texas on Sunday. Her day began alongside sophomore Emina Betkas as the duo crushed 24th-ranked Breaunna Addison and Noel Scott, 8-2.
