Michigan splits with Northwestern and Notre Dame

The No. 23 Michigan’s women’s swimming team split this weekend with Northwestern and No. 21 Notre Dame. The Wolverines outscored the Wildcats 192-108 but lost to the Fighting Irish 185-115.

For first time since 1967, Michigan competes in short pool as they down Eagles and Boilermakers

Normal would be hard to find for the Michigan men’s swimming and diving team against Eastern Michigan. The lane lines were coiled up on the walls at the other end of the pool. The walls themselves appeared bigger. This was no accident, but rather a creation of the eccentric mind of Michigan coach Mike Bottom. For the first time since 1967, an NCAA swim meet took place in a 20-yard pool, as opposed to the traditional 25.

In a repeat win of the Hawkeye Invitational this weekend, No. 22 Michigan women’s swimming and diving team swam like it had something to prove. After three days in the pool, the Wolverines finished first out of 10 teams with 876.5 points to win the competition for the second straight year.
