Despite a missed penalty kick, the Wolverines edged out Wisconsin, 1-0, in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament on Wednesday in Evanston, Ill. Michigan (3-2-1 Big Ten, 9-8-1 overall) advances into the semifinal with the victory, but more importantly, ensures the pivotal .500 winning percentage on the season needed to earn for NCAA Tournament eligibility.

The Michigan men’s soccer team (3-2-1 Big Ten, 8-8-1 overall) will look to avenge a regular-season loss to Wisconsin (1-3-2, 6-7-5) in a crucial game with a potential NCAA Tournament berth at stake.

There were much more than statewide bragging rights at stake between the Michigan men’s soccer team and Michigan State on Saturday’s senior night in Ann Arbor. With both squads eyeing an NCAA Tournament berth and a high seed in next week’s Big Ten Tournament, this match wasn’t just another rivalry game.

Junior forward Nkem Ezurike has scored plenty of goals for the Michigan women’s soccer team this season. But on Friday afternoon, an own goal off of Ezurike’s back helped No. 24 Ohio State eliminate the Wolverines from the Big Ten Tournament in Bloomington by a score of 2-1.
