Without Golder, Mikulak and de los Angeles Wolverines still thrive

Without two of their top gymnasts and head coach Kurt Golder, Mikulak, and Junior Adrian de los Angeles out due to a knee injury, the Wolverines remained undefeated beating four Big Ten teams and three top-15 teams, including Big Ten rival No. 3 Ohio State for the third time this season.

The event, sponsored by USA gymnastics, brought together the best gymnasts at all levels from around the country. Juniors Stacey Ervin and Adrian de los Angeles represented Michigan, and between them, took home three top-10 finishes.

Resilience displayed following shaky start on beam

While no falls were counted in the beam lineup, the Wolverines failed to break a 9.800 on the event. The highest score came from sophomore Austin Sheppard, who performed in the exhibition spot and thus, did not have her score factored into the team total.
