Senior forward Zara Saydjari knew what was at stake Saturday versus Indiana. Playing in the final regular season game of her career with a chance to capture the Big Ten championship with a win, Saydjari recorded her first career hat trick as the Wolverines secured a share of the conference title with Ohio State.

After suffering a devastating loss to rival No. 6 Ohio State on Friday, the Michigan field hockey seniors took the field two days later with their parents to celebrate their contributions to the team and take on UC-Davis. While Michigan coach Marcia Pankratz recognized the emotional aspects of senior day, she remained concentrated at the task at hand, defeating the Aggies.

The road win places Michigan atop the Big Ten standings and sets the scene for a run toward the Big Ten regular-season title and onward to the Big Ten Tournament in Evanston.
