BY SHANNON LYNCH

On Wednesday, Michigan was on a roll offensively for eight innings at Ray Fisher Stadium, earning a 7-0 victory against the Chippewas and putting up at least one run in six frames. Many of the opportunities for runs came from aggressive base running and getting the leadoff hitters on base.

Bakich looking forward to winning, not rivalries

BY MAX COHEN

In his first year at the helm of the Michigan baseball program, coach Erik Bakich hasn’t focused on his team’s rivalries. With a series against Michigan State on the horizon, Bakich knows the in-state Big Ten series will mean a lot to his players, but to him, it will just be another chance to earn Big Ten victories.

Big Ten Preview: Can the Big Ten break the streak?

BY SHANNON LYNCH

It’s an understatement to say that Big Ten baseball has been a huge disappointment recently. One team from the conference has earned the automatic bid as the Big Ten Tournament champion in the past three years, which is pitiful in comparison to baseball powerhouse conferences like the ACC, which has earned 20 at-large bids to the tournament since 2010. The Big Ten hasn’t earned more than one bid since 2009.
