Council votes in favor of progress of second rail station

Following four years of research, applications for grants and continuous discussion with the University, the Ann Arbor City Council voted 8-2 in favor to spend $550,000 from the city’s general fund toward preliminary study and planning for a second rail station in Ann Arbor.

Judge: AATA violated First Amendment by rejecting ad

A federal judge in Flint ruled Friday in favor of the American Civil Liberties Union and Blaine Coleman, an Ann Arbor resident who sued the Ann Arbor Transportation Authority after it declined to run his advertisements advocating a boycott of Israel on their buses last year.

Millage may fund new forms of local art

Every April Fool's Day, giant papier-mâché puppets parade down Main Street as part of Festifools, the annual festival that unites University artists and Ann Arbor residents. Though the program currently receives support from a number of small donors, it may be eligible for city funding if a new arts millage passes this fall.
