Members of the Second Amendment advocacy group, opencarry.org, attended a picnic at Wheeler Park on Oct. 12, 2008. The event was organized to increase awareness of Michigan's open-carry law.

Hockey's goaltending questions remain unsolved

It wasn't the third period sophomore goaltender Bryan Hogan expected.

After shutting out St. Lawrence through two periods, holding a 2-0 lead, Hogan and the Michigan hockey team seemed prepared to sweep St. Lawrence out of Yost Ice Arena.

But the second-ranked Wolverines somehow found themselves in a 3-3 tie late in a wild third period before pulling away at the end for a 5-3 win.

A group seeking a national ban on the use of landmines stopped through Ann Arbor Friday during a Midwest tour that includes numerous campus appearances.

The United States Campaign to Ban Landmines and Cluster Bombs held a meeting at the Memorial Christian Church, informing students of the humanitarian risks posed by cluster bombs and landmines at a grassroots level.

CRIME NOTES:

Student who passes out on bus gets MIP
Where: Transportation Services
When: Saturday at noon
What: A drunk student passed out on a University bus and awoke the next morning in the locked bus lot, University Police said. He called police to be let out and was issued a minor in possession of alcohol citation because he was still intoxicated. Vomit was found in the bus.

LGBT groups memorialize hate crime victims at vigil
