Molk to miss rest of the season with torn ACL

Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez said Monday that center David Molk will miss the remainder of the season with a torn right ACL.

Rodriguez said once the swelling in Molk's knee subsides, he will undergo surgery.

Molk suffered the injury during the first half of Saturday's 35-10 loss to Penn State. Rodriguez said Molk "planted funny on one of the run plays." He walked off the field on his own will, but later had the knee examined. Rodriguez said Molk will also miss spring practice and hopefully be available for the summer.

It's a tough blow for Molk — Saturday was his first return since breaking his foot on Sept. 19 against Eastern Michigan. Rodriguez said fifth-year senior David Moosman will step in at center.

"I feel so bad for Dave, he's had so much bad luck," Rodriguez said Monday.
