Baseball falls 5-3 to Seton Hall in Citi Field makeup game

On Tuesday in Flushing, NY, solid at-bats from the likes of O’Neill and sophomore utility hitter Kyle Jusick just weren’t enough to make up for the Wolverines’ lackluster pitching against Seton Hall. Michigan fell 5-3 to the Pirates, after giving up two runs in the sixth inning.

In a few short and crucial minutes on the field, Michigan’s hopes of a mid-week win began to slip away. The Wolverines ultimately fell to Eastern Michigan, 15-10.
Baseball earns 10th consecutive victory, defeats Notre Dame, 8-2

Tuesday, the Wolverines recorded their 10th-consecutive win, defeating Notre Dame 8-2 at Ray Fisher Stadium. The game featured a number of outstanding performances, like sophomore right-hander James Bourque, who worked a no-hitter into nearly eight frames.
Baseball extends winning streak to six against Notre Dame

The Wolverines (4-2 Big Ten, 17-14 overall) battled the No. 18 Notre Dame in South Bend and earned a 4-1 victory, extending their winning streak to six. Michigan hasn’t had this many victories in succession since 2010.
Michigan's 'greedy' 7-0 victory over Chippewas

On Wednesday, Michigan was on a roll offensively for eight innings at Ray Fisher Stadium, earning a 7-0 victory against the Chippewas and putting up at least one run in six frames. Many of the opportunities for runs came from aggressive base running and getting the leadoff hitters on base.

Big Ten Preview: Can the Big Ten break the streak?

It’s an understatement to say that Big Ten baseball has been a huge disappointment recently. One team from the conference has earned the automatic bid as the Big Ten Tournament champion in the past three years, which is pitiful in comparison to baseball powerhouse conferences like the ACC, which has earned 20 at-large bids to the tournament since 2010. The Big Ten hasn’t earned more than one bid since 2009.

O’Neill might have seen better days, but recently, the Michigan baseball team hasn’t. They’re currently 10-11 in non-conference play and lost this weekend’s series to Western Illinois (6-14), a team that boasts only one significant win all season.

Michigan looking to sweep at Chanticleer Classic

In its last tournament before its home opener, the Michigan baseball team (8-7) will head to Myrtle Beach, S.C., to compete in the Chanticleer Classic beginning Friday. Michigan will take on Coastal Carolina (7-10) on Friday and Saturday, followed by a game on Sunday against Akron (1-12).

Ski Team Shines at National Championships

The Michigan ski team isn’t a varsity or club sport. In fact, it isn’t actually recognized as a team on campus at all. The “team” doesn’t have coaches or train regularly, it isn’t funded or sponsored by the University and its members aren’t recruited.
