After Purdue lost to Iowa on Sunday evening, the scene was set for the only two undefeated teams left in the Big Ten to face off in a battle for conference supremacy. But by the end of Monday’s affair between No. 23 Michigan and No. 8 Penn State, only one team would remain standing without a blemish on its record.

To be the best, you have to beat the best. Monday night at the Crisler Center, the No. 25 Michigan women’s basketball team will attempt to do just that. The Wolverines (4-0 Big Ten, 15-2 overall) will face their toughest challenge of the season against No. 9 Penn State (4-0, 14-2) in a battle for Big Ten supremacy.
Arnold lifts Wolverines past Hoosiers in Big Ten opener

After a sluggish start to the game, the Wolverines used a 15-2 run between the first and second halves to edge out Indiana, 65-48. Michigan (12-2, 1-0 Big Ten) rode its unbeaten December record into the new year to capture coach Kim Barnes Arico’s first win in the Big Ten.

YPSILANTI — Coming off last Wednesday’s journey to Peoria, Ill., the Michigan women’s basketball team found itself on the road again to face Eastern Michigan. Yet the Wolverines didn’t have to travel far Tuesday night, taking a short drive down Washtenaw Avenue to defeat the Eagles, 55-43.
From Harris to Jordan, Michigan adjusts starting lineup

With only four games remaining before the Big Ten season, the Michigan women’s basketball team is still searching for a consistent lineup. Head coach Kim Barnes Arico has already used two different starting lineups through the Wolverines’ first nine games and is prepared to make more changes in the future.

After trading leads throughout Saturday's game, the Michigan women’s basketball team pulled away in the second half to defeat Florida, 59-53. Led by senior guard Kate Thompson’s 21 points, the Wolverines shot 42.9 percent from the field to complete a five-game home stand.
Wolverines look to bounce back against Florida

Though Wednesday’s battle with No. 4 Duke ended in a double-digit loss, the Michigan women’s basketball team can find a silver lining in its performance. After the Blue Devils took an early 17-point lead in the first half, the Wolverines responded with an impressive 18-4 run to close the lead to two points at halftime.
Wolverines prepare for battle in weekend series

Though Michigan women’s basketball team’s defense was formidable in Monday’s 72-29 victory over Seton Hall, the Wolverines (3-1) will need to maintain their fervor as they continue a five-game home stand with contests against Harvard and Boston University this weekend.
