Monday, the athletic Department announced that it will no longer assign seats to student ticket holders, instead opting to have student seating as general admission. In an announcement on the department’s website, the athletic department will give students general admission tickets on a first-come, first-serve basis as an incentive to arrive prior to kickoff.

Hockey adds goaltender commit to incoming class

On Thursday, the Wolverines received a commitment from goaltender Zach Nagelvoort, who comes from the North American Hockey League’s Aberdeen Wings. Nagelvoort will enter Ann Arbor this fall for the 2013-14 season.
NHL Winter Classic to come to Big House, again

In the Michigan hockey team’s practice on Tuesday, Michigan coach Red Berenson stood by his forwards on the ice, feeding pucks to a lone defenseman acting as a shooter. He provoked the forwards to get down on a knee, forcing the shooter to change the angle of his shot.
Michigan sweeps for fourth consecutive time, punches ticket to Joe Louis Arena

Highlighted by a four-goal second period, the Michigan hockey team outmuscled No. 9 Western Michigan, 5-1, to finish with its fourth-consecutive sweep. With the win, Michigan advances to Joe Louis Arena for its 24th-consecutive appearance in the CCHA semifinals.
