Take UM Abroad program to help finance student travel

In an effort to increase the global impact of University students, Central Student Government has created “Take UM Abroad,” a new program that will award five $1,000 scholarships to students studying abroad next semester.
LSA freshman Nicole Mott, the program’s director, called the program a method of “stamping your ‘M’ on the globe.”
City Council suspends public art program

Though Ann Arbor voters decided against supporting a millage to fund public art in the city in the election last month, the Ann Arbor City Council passed a resolution on Monday that would also temporarily disband the current Percent for Art program.
Rackham voters support secession from CSG

After suffering a defeat in the courtroom Tuesday night, the Central Student Government took a second blow early Friday morning after the referendum it fought to keep off the ballot showed that a majority of students who voted in Rackham Student Government’s election support pursuing secession from CSG.
CSG election results released, Rackham elections voided and rescheduled due to faulty ballot

The Central Student Government released unofficial results of its November elections a little more than 12 hours after polls closed Wednesday at 11:59 p.m., but announced it will reschedule the election for the eight Rackham representative seats after a faulty ballot only allowed students to vote for one candidate.
CSG withholds election results

Though polls closed for the CSG November elections at midnight, results from the election will not be released until at least noon Thursday.
Only eight students registered as candidates for the 18 representative positions available in the Assembly for the November election, which is primarily held to fill vacancies in the legislative body.
CSJ: Ballot survey on RSG secession to be maintained

After a three-hour hearing, the Central Student Judiciary ruled against the injunction filed by Central Student Government against Rackham Student Government, effectively maintaining a non-binding question for graduate students regarding RSG secession on the election ballot.
