Michigan baseball falls in home opener

Michigan’s baseball team seemed to take a trip to the past Wednesday. The Wolverines displayed old-school techniques: using steals, bunts and situational hitting to score runs. But so did Western Michigan. Despite being accustomed to this style of play, Michigan (10-12) fell to the Broncos, 7-3, in the Wolverines’ home opener at Ray Fisher Stadium.

On Wednesday, the Wolverines (10-11 overall) will finally play hosts, this time to Western Michigan (7-16) at Ray Fisher Stadium in their first home game.

Michigan set to begin extended road trip

Michigan (2-4 overall) will travel to Florida to play five games in the Snowbird Invitational before heading to California for the USD Tournament to finish the trip. In total, the team will play a total of nine games over a 10-day stretch.
De los Angeles joins Mikulak on U.S. National Team

Several members of the Michigan men’s gymnastics went to Las Vegas this past weekend, with hopes of making the U.S senior national team. Sophomore Adrian de los Angeles earned a spot, while sophomore Stacey Ervin just missed out.
Wolverines turn in dominating performance

One of the nation’s best teams was on display Saturday night at Cliff Keen Arena—and it was dominating.
Playing host to the visitors from California, the No. 2 Michigan men’s gymnastics team defeated No. 10 California 439.350-413.400. The Wolverines (3-0) took home all six of the individual event titles and won five of the six team events.
Syque Caesar, NCAA record holder months in the making

When fifth-year senior Syque Caesar walked onto the mat for his parallel bars routine for the Michigan men’s gymnastics team Saturday, he did so as a captain, an Olympian and a national champion. After sticking his dismount, Caesar jumped off the mat as a NCAA record holder.
De los Angeles collects second all-around win

What a difference two hours make.
Shortly before the men’s gymnastics meet was about to begin, sophomore Adrian de los Angeles huddled with Michigan coach Kurt Golder to decide if he was going to compete in all the events after sustaining an ankle injury earlier in the week.
