Campus Corner: Advice for studying abroad for students, by students

BY KAT CARTWRIGHT

Studying abroad this spring or summer? Well, if you’re one of the many students packing their bags and heading overseas, you definitely want to check out Real Abroad. A website founded by recent Colgate University graduates, Real Abroad prides itself in being a website for students, by students. What exactly does that mean? Well, by requiring a .edu email address in order to sign up and with a staff of all college student writers, the travel advice found on Real Abroad solely comes from and is directed at college students.

Being a website primarily aimed at students, Real Abroad offers answers for every student’s study abroad concerns. On the website you can find everything from safety tips, to a list of the best bars and restaurants in a city, to advice for staying within your budget.

At first, much of the content seems to be directed at students traveling to Barcelona, Florence, Prague and Rome. However, if you check out the website’s blogroll you can find advice from students who have been everywhere, from Hong Kong to Keflavik, Iceland, and, of course, an abundance of destinations around Europe. Throughout the numerous articles in the blogroll, you’ll find advice from students both about living in and travelling around foreign countries.

Whether you’re looking to plan a trip in advance or looking for some undiscovered tourist destinations in the city you’re in, Real Abroad is the perfect website for students traveling around the world.
